The Victoria Prison
For this project, we decided to create a brochure to advertise this prison since it is opened for visitors, introducing the charity event held at the prison in order to raise funds for the Community Chest of Hong Kong. Even though this site used to be a prison, it was reconstructed and opened to the public. It was also called the “Prison Art Museum” in 2007 because it was opened to local artists to use the cell as a display gallery to show their art work, or they can decorate and design the cell that they have access to.
While viewing comments by tourists, we are inspired by the commercial mode it's having right now. A collision of violence and advertisement could be included in our work. Therefore, I suggest creating something that advertises this location to represent Hong Kong through its colonial era. The prison is now reconstructed into a modern art gallery, but the historical atmosphere remains.
